Cécile J. Garcia-Moeller studied violin and chamber music at the prestigious Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique of Paris, where she was awarded Premier prix. Entering the Cycle de perferctionnement in pedagogy, she graduated with a Certificat d'aptitude (the highest distinction for teaching violin in France) and was appointed professor of violin at the Conservatoire National Regional of Cergy-Pontoise. She has freelanced with many orchestras in the Paris area and participated in major festivals and concert tours throughout Europe, North Africa, and the Near East. Ms. Garcia-Moeller has also performed with baroque ensembles in France and Germany. Cecile's first appearance on the Boston musical scene was for the Boston Early Music Festival with the Saltarello ensemble, in June 2005. She serves as concertmaster with Newton Baroque and occasionnaly with the New England Philharmonic Orchestra, plays for La Donna Musicale, La Tempesta di Mare (Philadelphie), Hingham Symphony orchestra, Les Bostonades and Boston Musica Viva. With La Donna Musicale, she recorded the Seven psalms of David Vol.2 by Antonia Bembo (Released March 2006), and a CD about french women composers from the 17th century. (Release June 2007). She toured through Europe in August 2006.
